    Tethered Capture

    I have a Nikon D300, and use LR5.
I want to use tethered capture in LR. My question is whether I need to preset my camera in some way prior to using this feature.
My instruction book does not address this issue since Lightroom's tethered capture feature was introduced after the instruction manual was written.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Bruce,

There is an option in the 'Set Up' menu to change USB type. I can not remember which is which but for tethering while using 'ControlMyNikon' my camera is always left set on M/P.

Grahame, thanks for replying. Using your D300 have you had any problems using tethered capture?

    Bruce,

No problems at all with the 'ControlMyNikon' software I now use. I say I now use but it's become less and less since I got tired of stacking. Tried a couple of others in the early days but not as good and not as many functions.

I have read that when using it for setting up for 'stacking' use be careful about the length of time you leave the camera in Live View so I have always been careful.
