    Milkyway, North Cascades

    Milkyway, North Cascades

I finally did it, drove 3 1/2 hrs up into the North Cascades Mountians for my first Milkyway shoot. I used Skyview Cafe program to figure out when and where I should set up. The first time I saw the image on the LCD I was blown away by what I saw and by what I could not see with the naked eye. The plus was meteor shower activity, some have up to 7 streaks in the 30 second exposures.

I am now trying to figure out how to process the ones I light painted old trees in the foreground and did a vertical pano

Can hardly wait to see the light painted ones. Very nice

I plan to do this one of these days. As well as the Southern Hemisphere if the opportunity arises.

That is a very cool shot, jon. I've always wanted to try this, but don't know where I can go to eleminate the background light.

Thanks for the kind words, i don't think I ever experienced such a black night before and hoped the Bears didn't come around while I was occupied
