    Flowers in the City.......

We still have here in South Australia Winter, but there is always something in bloom, so yesterday, when I went into town, I found these flowers, although I don't know their name.......

I took these 2 photos with my Fuji X100 camera.......

I think those are Red Hot Poker flowers. They are really brilliant and catch your attention.

    Hey Griddi,
Great images, I especially like the first one. It has a fantastic 3D look to it.
    Cheers, Greg

Another vote for the first shot. I like the urban background. Definitely a new twist on the usual flower photography. Background is identifiable, but not distracting - perfect middle ground. That said, I would try going a little more rule-of-thirds and getting somewhat closer to the flower with a shorter lens. Make it look larger than life and get it more off-center in the frame. My 2 cents.

    Lex. thank you.......
I agree with the " more off-centre in the frame " ( next time for sure ) but I used my Fuji X100 for this shoot, which has a fixed lens only.......

Next time I may try this shoot with my Olympus E-M5, either with a shorter lens, or with my macro lens.......

    Kind Regards,
    Griddi......
