Don, nice capture. I definitely like the rich colors in the photo.

Thanks. This is a 7 shot HDR image captured late morning.

Very nice. I'd probably remove the mailboxes and 2 signs, but that's just a personal preference that many may not share.

It is certainly a very pleasing image. As someone rather ignorant of hdr, could you explain why you chose it and what it brings? At first sight the image doesn't seem to have an inherent wide dynamic range.

    Thanks, Dave

Hi Don. Nice image. I would like to have seen the top of the spire on the right or, alternately, cropped off the right side and added a tiny bit more space above the peak in the center. The colors are very rich and look nice that way. The blue sign and mail boxes draw the eye toward them and away from the courthouse architecture, so I wondered if the image would be any better if you reduced the blue saturation.

I do most photos in HDR because I feel that I can get more details out of the photos that way. There may not be a very high dynamic range but I enjoy the process and trying to keep everything looking natural when doing HDR can be an challenge.

This is nice. Very occasionally, extreme HDR produces something interesting but most of the time I find that doing it for the sake of it just doesn't add anything. I much prefer its use to adjust (not distort) the tonal range or as here, to subtly enhance the qualities of an image.
