If this is your first time doing fireworks then I sure love to see your photographs when you gain more experience.

Thanks Bruce. Somebody had posted some basic settings to start with and I went from there. These were shot at a friends party. I was a little bit too close for most of the shots, so I moved to the other side of the pond for the finally (#7)...should have been on that side all along.
Nicely done, I like all of them.
Great job, Jon! My favorite is #1, but they are all spectacular...
Joe, Susan & Ian, thanks for your comments. Ian, I had to cross the small pond, not the large one![]()
Good job, Jon. Fireworks are fun to shoot since you don't know exactly what you are going to get.
Here are three of mine, shot at ISO 100, Bulb, f/18, Canon 1Ds III, EF 35 mm f/1.4L, tripod, RAW, processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. More at:

Good job, guys! Too bad these fireworks displays come only once a year. They're fun subjects to shoot since one gets interesting patterns of light trails and colors. I can feel the craving for a 24 mm wide angle. I can't back up any more at my favorite shooting location (trees).
