Two FRom the North Yorkshire Dales

These were taken earlier this year near the little village of Stainforth. At the right time of year, salmon leap the waterfall.

Very nice shots John. The first has a very peaceful mood and the second an interesting composition which works well in my opinion.

Very picturesque particularly the first image. The high contrast that I assume the lighting provided has been well handled. The shadowed rock on the lower left side of the second image may look better lightened a bit or reduced with a small crop across the bottom.

Looks like a great place to do photography.

The first word that came to mind when viewing the first photo was 'picturesque', but I see Paul has beat me to that observation, so I will say what a beautiful tranquil scene.

Thanks Dave, L. Paul, Greg and Ken for your comments. Know what you mean about the second image LP. Because the shadow has a hard edge against a dark BG, it looks a bit artificial if I lift it any more but you're not wrong. The first image was really a trial of a newly acquired 10x ND filter but I was quite pleased with the result.
