A couple at the rocks (Búzios)

Hi. This was shot during my last trip to Búzios. I was at the top of a mount and saw this girl photographing her boyfriend at the rocks. I liked the scene and shot this.

    C&C welcomed. Thanks for viewing.

Nice capture. Figure in red really stands out. Nice sense of scale.

Good all round composition with nice clean crisp surf.

Whether landscapes are better with or without people is something that often gets debated.

I think this scene would work both ways.

    Hi Otavio,

I have been staring at this image for a long time. The light is soft and good but makes the image look flat. The main subject in the image is hidden.

Look at te scene. See the picture. Compose. The image has lots of potential. Recompose by trying different crops. You need not have the sky showing in the image. The main subject is the lady taking a picture of someone on the rocks.

As John mentioned, “Nice sense of scale”. The figure of the lady gives the viewer an idea of how big those rocks are. What is the lady doing? By zooming in the figure of her subject becomes clearer and you can see why she is there, taking a picture.

By cutting out the sky the “flatness” of the image disappears. The colours are really very good. The lighting is excellent.

See the picture in the scene.
