    Great Blue Heron

I stalked this bird for two weeks and finally got some shots. I have a series of flight shots. Being a beginner with a DSLR I forgot to change some of the camera settings and had partial metering set. It was about 5:00 in the afternoon and raining. This photo has been edited with Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. The originals are dark, but quite interesting. I will post them later. Welcome c and c.

They are very shy birds and always aware of their surrounding. You did well to capture this. Nice shot.

    Thanks John.

I am a beginner and it was my first attempt at using continous shooting and auto focusing to track the subject. I am going to post the other photos and set up a gallery. The camera was set using shutter priority. I think they would have been sharper with a smaller depth of field. So many settings to think about... Here is my favorite unretouched photo with the partial metering.
