    SHarp-shinned Hawk

    SHarp-shinned Hawk

I vas trying to take some impossible, long eagle shots from behind a local criminal detention ctr. When I heard this guy behind me he didnt really give me time to improve my position or I coulda put some blue sky or green tree behind the razor wire. Iam pretty happy with what I got though, I really like the sharp beak , talons, barbs, and razors all in one pic! all c&c welcomed.

All the sharps in one shot. Good catch and capture.

That looks like a dangerous place to land! I'd be happy to have gotten this one too.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful bird... I admire how you made the background work, and it made it special...

Great catch, James. Razor wire, barb etc, -- 'man-proof' fence is not a barrier for this predator.

Thank you Bobo, red eye to boot.

Thank you Terri, He jumped in and out with ease.

Thank you Christina, I was worried about the background. Although the more I look at it the more symbolic it is to me.... that probably sounds crazy.

Thanks for checking it out Randy. These guys can be a terror on a feeder, my wife doesnt like it but I look at it like "its abird feeder right, who am I to say who can feed.

Thanks Greg. I think you have seen the symbolism I mentioned earlier.

What a lovely shot. Our landscapes are so dominated by wires/fences/pylons it is great to capture a shot where they add to the picture rather than detract.

Yes, but - do they eat what you provide - or the other guests?

I'd be pleased with that James, well done,

Technically well executed image. Nailed all the details. Love that eye.
