    Assorted Macros

After surgery for 2 retinal tears in my right eye, I have been off from work for 2 weeks and supposed to be doing nothing - no computer, no picture taking, no close up work, no nothing. To tell the truth, I have occasionally been non-compliant.

Here are the results of my non-compliance.

Please comment/critque. I am least happy with #3. Please do not chide me on my non-compliance. I would be stir crazy if I was not able to see my world through my lenses some of the time.

Being non-compliant and getting shots like these? You have been compliant in other ways.

    Lovely shots - I particularly like 1, 2 and 5.

#4 is a difficult shot at best of times due to the shiny surface but you have controlled those highlights well.

#3 - nice idea which may have been better taken with just the 1 or 2 most prominent drops and closer.

A nice set of photos. My favourites are 1 & 4. Did the hummingbird pose for any length of time or was this a lucky grab shot?

Bruce, I was out on the porch with my 70-200 and 550 closeup lens after taking pictures of flowers and I had just put fresh nectar out for them. He actually did pose. I have several other shots of him, but none show his plumage and ruby throat quite as well.

The male hummingbirds were having territory skirmishes and he was the victor. He took a few minutes on top of the ironwork hangar to recover after fierce dogfighting with about 5 others.
