After the last couple of days of snow and wind, the sun finally came out and it warmed up to a balmy 45F. I picked up a D7100 yesterday to pair up with a 300mm f4 to try out as a light weight wildlife rig. So I decided to make the best of the lovely evening sun and take the new rig for a spin. I rode down to the local shorebird sanctuary to see what was up. Quite a bit of acivity. I got a lifetime first with the rednecked phalarope.

I'm really pleased with the D7100 and the 300 f4 is tack sharp even with the 1.4x TC on it. Finally have a reasonably light weight wildlife rig.
