Florida House (Processed as a Water Color)

I processed this image as a watercolor using Lightroom 4 adjustments. Comments welcomed.

Different, the watercolor process is very subtle.

Would you consider going bolder with a bit more contrast? Just my humble. No particular technical reason.

Thanks John. I didn't want to go overboard with my processing.

Marie, I wouldn't go bolder (but this is personal taste). I played with different levels of contrast. More contrast works but it becomes a different picture. I wanted the shading to be light due to the sun's intensity.

Share with me what you wanted to convey? As you say, again, strictly personal taste. Were you going for more of an impressionistic look? Just curious. If so, why not go all the way?

    Maybe something like this?

Really Marie, I was just shooting for a pretty image that captured the Florida sun's brightness. Like any photograph, I had to make trade-offs between different possible developments. I am sure that if I sat down to redo this image it would come out differently. I just thought that a slight watercolor feel to the image best captured what I saw the day I took this picture.

    Thanks, Karm

I really do like what you have done, and I like the feel. I did not mean to press you, and if you felt that way, I am sorry. I just wanted to put myself in your shoes and understand the image the way you presented it.

Thank you for allowing me to see things personally from your eyes.

Marie, no, I didn't interpret your questioning as pressing me. I love the types of questions you asked me. It makes me think about what I tried to do. I mostly operate at a gut feeling. I see a certain image begin to emerge during my processing and then go for it.
