San Antonio, TX, shot with a cell phone. The monochromes

Hi. I have been out this week for a business trip to San Antonio. Didnt take my D5100 with me, so I decided to see what my cell phone would be able to do (Samsung Galaxy ACE Duos, 5Mpixels). Here are some monochromes from the city.
C&C welcomed, as always. Thanks for viewing!

    Hi Otavio,

Just goes to show that a good composition can be taken on anything with a knowledgeable/skilled photographer with their finger on the button.

I particularly like 1, 4, 6 and 8 although with 8, until I read the title, I thought the building was the subject and the vehicle was just getting in the way.

    Cheers,

I would agree totally with Dave. This is the perfect example of how the picture is made by the artist, not by the equipment being used.

Thanks a lot, Dave, for the positive feedback. Can´t avoid saying that I felt happy when reading it. Regarding #8, actually I considered the building as the main subject, but waited for the trolley to pass, as I considered it added to the subject (I edited the picture's title).

    Again, many thanks!

Hello, Donald. Thank you very much for the feedback. I do appreciate it! I really tried to do my best with a limited gear and I am glad that you, a B&W specialist, liked the result. Kindest regards,

    Otavio,
Very good photos taken with a cell phone.
You are confirming what I say everyday: "The photographer is the most important part of a photographic gear".

    Hi Otavio

I can only agree with all that has been said so far. For interest, did you have to undertake anything out of the ordinary from normal PPing to achieve these results ?

Hi Grahame. Thanks for viewing and commenting!

Regarding your question, I am not 100% sure what you mean by "normal PP", as that concept might vary from one to another, but, in summary, I did what I consider only normal things like Cropping, angle adjustment, setting contrast, exposure (global and on selected areas), sharpening and Monochrome conversion. I also used neat image in some of them, to reduce noise and get a clearer aspect.

I hope that answer your question.

    Thanks!

Amazing quality and very nice images! San Antonio is my traditional family home and I really get the feeling of this unique city from your images.

Someday we may have a "Genie" cell phone camera. Just like Alladin's magic lamp, you will rub the cell phone and it will grow into a full frame DSLR

Hello, Richard. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I liked San Antonio, it is really an unique city, with a strong historical side.

Regarding the "genie" cell phone camera, let's just hope that some Samsung or Apple engineers will develop one ASAP!

    Cheers!

Lovely photos as always... All of them... But I especially love #1 (for the perspective and composition) and the B&W is especially beautiful!
