Re: Incongruence (Abstract)
Hi Mike. I didn't make it. The red and white lines are wood planks and the black and white lines metal planks. Where the metal planks end the wood planks begin. However, the metal planks are set deeper than the wood planks. I shot this picture from a low position and at an angle that gives it its perspective. If you look closely at the reddish brown and white lines the white part is the edge of the plank and the brownish red part is the flat part of the plank. The whole picture is just a set of optical illusions enhanced by post processing. (Sorry if my explanation reads too convoluted.)

Re: Incongruence (Abstract)
Considering the thought, composition, perspective and post-processing, I disagree that you didn't "make" the photo. You did far more than simply "take" it, and I mean that as a compliment. I realize that you mean that you captured a scene that was not made by you, but you made the most of it having an eye that made it possible for you to see something that most of us would hot have seen.
Well done on all levels! Thanks for the explanation.

Re: Incongruence (Abstract)
Karm - I love the image.
I agree with Mike - you "made" the image in your mind before you pressed the shutter.
I love it just as it is, but if it were mine I'd play with it a bit just out of curiosity. Have you tried cropping it so that the demarcation line is not in the center? Maybe like this?
How about changing to diagonal lines?
Just playing around. It's great as it is.

Hi Cliff. Really, there's no end of ways to slice and dice this image. Your image gives it a different perspective. I tried different full rotations. I didn't try yours which I like.
