    Glen Innes.

These two were taken near Glen Innes, where I now live in NSW. The camera used was a Canon 5D MkII & the lens a Canon 17-40L. The scenery around here is quite spectacular @ present, with the Poplar trees beginning to drop their Autumn leaves.

I especially like the second one, though it seems to be tilted to the right.

Why did you use frames that are so much larger at the sides than at the bottom?

    G'day Mike........
You could be right about the bottom image tilting slightly to the right, I just thought it was the way the land was laying.
The frames come as a standard feature with Photoshop Elements, I guess you could say it's the lazy mans way of framing a photo.
    Cheers.......Ed.

    G'day again Mike.
I made a couple adjustments to the bottom image.
I straightened the horizon & changed the framing.
You were right it does look better & thanks for your comment.
    Cheers........Ed.

Much better, Edwin, and very nice! I don't know how to figure out what "straight" is in this image. Some of the trees are vertical yet the predominant trees are leaning to the right. The road at that angle makes it difficult to know whether it's straight. All you can do is play it by ear and find something that feels comfortable to you.

I know what you mean by you saying that the trees are leaning to the right in that image.
It could be because the winds blow severely from the east, hence the slight lean to the right.
    Thanks again for your comments.
    Cheers mate.........Ed.

Edwin I particularly like the road shot. I vaguely recollect not being able to get a motel in Glen Innes because of some sort of Celtic festival was being held. Is it still held? From memory there was a park with a circle of stones and one with a sword stuck in it.

Yes mate the Celtic festival is still held here.
It runs from the 2nd of May to the 5th of May.
The festival will be celebrating all things Scottish this year, it should be interesting.
I have never been, but will be taking many photos of the street parades etc.
My ancestry is Scottish on my fathers side & I just know it's going to stir up my Scots blood.
Donald would be as happy as a pig in mud if he was able to attend.

Listen mate I don't think it's a good idea to run around in a skirt with a purse dangling on the front and a knife in your sock unless of course you are a canon user,

I apologise in advance if I have even in the slightest bit been culturally or brand insensitive.

Well that's just typical of you uncouth uncultured Nikon user Kiwi's, to say such despicable things.
I definitely won't be running around in a skirt mate, not this time of year anyway, too blooming cold.

And to quote you; "I apologise in advance if I have even in the slightest bit been culturally or brand insensitive"
Cheers from me....... The Big Aussie Scotsman.
P.S. I'm glad we can be light hearted & share cross the ditch banter between one another.
