They are indeed Highland Cattle (or Highlanders as we refer to them as). Wonderful to see someone breeding them way over there. They were bread for their toughness and ability to stay out right through a Scottish winter. They don't produce the same quantity of meat as today's more modern breeds, but the quality is superb.

With #1, James, I wonder about your focus point, and the depth of focus with a F5 aperture. The foreground beast seems a fraction on the soft side to me.
The others work fine. You obviously had a tricky light position which has resulted in some bright highlights in places. But I don't really find that to be a problem.

Thanks Bobo, Thanks for the info Donald, I love the name "highlanders" it applies here, considering they were found in the mtns. in northeast Tennessee.
Geoff the first pic was a severe crop from my fifty mm. I then changed to my 400. I hope to go back up there for better light in the near future. Once again thanks all for your inputs.
