Unpromising location ... Interesting Picture.

Thought this might make an interesting thread for people to add to ... a bit like a before and after.

Here is a picture of what looks like an uninteresting location.

But with a bit of thought, this was my final picture.




Anyone else got an example to share?

Can't share anything right now but sketch shots are an important part of my own process and I can end up taking lots to get one. Well done for your persistence to get something out of that location!

Maybe later, but regarding your photos, I think the first could be made more interesting with a touch of post processing or are you limiting this to straight out of the camera shots?

Thanks for the comment. There is no post processing on the first shot. I actually took the second shot first. While I was standing there it occurred to me to take a picture of the location for a possible post here.
What I was trying to do with this thread was to try and understand how we "see" a possible picture out of what at first appears to an unpromising location. I thought it might be useful for others to see where the actual shot came from.
Hope this makes sense, I am grappling with concepts I guess

The concept is understandable, I remember participating in a similar thread on this forum, just wanted to define the requirements.

Here's my entry. i snapped the shot because I like the shape of the structure. The cropped image came from closer scrutiny. The first crop started expanding as I noticed other elements (the bird, the lamppost, the tree) I wanted to include and a lot I wanted to exclude.
