Very nice, jim. Like them both. Really like the palm limb in the first one. Adds alot of depth to the image.

(perhaps tone down the water in the first one. Even the white caps are kind of blue)

Very nicely done Jim. I particularly like the first image - just beautiful - amazing light and colour.

I agree that the first photo is especially nice for all of the reasons already mentioned. I would like the second photo better if the bush on the right were not included in the frame, as it adds a vertical, manicured element that seems to contradict everything else in the composition. Even with that bush removed, I don't think I would like the second photo as much as the first one.

Didn't know if it would work or not.I couldn't frame it any tighter.Agree the bushes don't work in this shot.

    Mike,

I love St. Croix also.Have been there 6 or 7 times in the past 15 years.
The economy is looking pretty sad. They shut down the oil refinery and Carnival cruise ships don't dock there anymore.
Cane Bay and the Divi are still fairly busy places.

"Carnival cruise ships don't dock there anymore."
That's a pity, because this islands was different from all the others.
