    Redpoll

I have been trying to photograph Redpoll's for the past few days. They are shy, small and fast. Although this photo is now super sharp, I like it because it gives me the feeling of a water color painting. Not what I intended, just what I got. C & C appreciated.

Cool shot. I have yet to see one though they are around here somewhere.

Perhaps try to lighten it up a bit especially around the head/eye area if possible.

Seconded. A little saturation to bring out this little guys' red feathers might be worth a try. It might be the Tinypic reduction, but it looks like there's some moire around the bird. Good capture.

Bobo, Lex, Joe and James, thanks for the comments. These are the best shots I have of a Redpoll, but you have given me incentive to get out and try to get a better one. Here is one other one that I took the same day. Still trying.

The saturation helps the bird, but looks artificial on the log. Might want to mask the bird and only saturate him/her.

Not sure if I like the bird's pose more in the first or the second shot. First looks rather regal, with his/her beak clearly outlined, but the second looks curious.

Very nice, 4 fps or more should get it.
