Hi all, - this was taken from my suburban balcony so not ideal for this type of shot but was reasonably happy with the result - can't wait to try it in some dark open spaces and for longer - c @c welcome

Nice first attempt. This is something I really want to get into, but you are right in that you ideally need to be in an area with minimal light pollution for the best results.

Was this a single exposure? Or did you take multiple exposures and stitch them?
