    Not for the fainted hearted...

Please allow me to introduce you to Oxyuranus microlepidotus, aka the Inland Taipan, small scaled or fierce snake; they are actually shy and reclusive and are known as fierce snakes because of their venom and not their temperament. In fact, though their existence had been previously postulated, specimens were not actually captured and characterized as a separate species until 1958.
For those interested, they are fast moving, grow to 6 to 8 ft in length and their venom is X50 times more deadly than the King Cobra. This has earned them the dubious accolade of being classed as the deadliest land snake in the world.
These were taken under adverse conditions at a snake handling display at the recent Seymour Alternative Farming Expo.
If you care to go further on this then hop over to this link and watch a short Steve Irwin and a taipan video and you will see why that, even though we all had greatest admiration for his passionate devotion to wild life, many of us had grave concerns about his approach and mind set. Sadly his tragic encounter with a Sting Ray justified our concerns.

Never heard of this one. I was under the impression the King Cobra is the most venomous.
    Thanks Ken.

Nice Joe Blake, I wouldn't want to step on it.
