    Nicely lit squares in monochrome

    This photo has the look almost of an abstract. It's a fountain in the Westin Puerto Vallarta resort captured in 2011 and converted yesterday to black-and-white. Though cropping to eliminate the white wall in the top corners would make it look even more like an abstract, I didn't like that look quite as much.

    C&C encouraged as always, though I have nothing to ask.

    Interesting. Have you considered a tighter crop and mainly using the middle three levels. The very light top corners are for me mucking up the tonal range.
