    Symbols in the sky

    Symbols in the sky

I wanted to present something really pared down and simple but still interesting.

"Let there be light". It's a great image, Sharon.

Wll done Sharon. Did you use some kind of special filter on your camera to tone down the sun. I like the contrast/opposition between the cercle on the cross and the cercle of the sun.

Simple? Sharon? Nah. There is a lot in there that is not simple (but do not know what it is).

    Nice one.

    Thanks folks.

Louise, I would love to be able to say I used a special filter, in fact I used some strong vignetting techinques in PP.

Sharon, to be able to produce a certain effect without big technology is a sure sign of a good photograph!

In that case, you hit the bullseye!

Bill Clinton had 'It's the economy, stupid' on his desk. What we need imprinted on the brain is, 'Keep it simple, stupid.'

I'm seeing some rings within the outer area, just inside the vignette. Do you mean those to be there or are they an artifact of the PP? I had a 'rings problem' some time back and that was because of how DxO Optics and Silver Efex Pro2 were shown to be interacting when I started pushing contrast too much via the 'Amplify Blacks' tool on SEP2

I also see a bright ring near the center that has the effect of making the center look darker. I like all of those effects and assumed they are intentional. They are a good fit with the theme of "circles."

Am not entirely sure what you mean...but it's probably a mistake.

Mike...that centre ring in the halo was intentional
