    Joe,
what a beautiful shot! I always thought blue herons were a water bird... but during the winter we have them in our field hunting almost daily. They are beautiful to watch, but I can never get close enough to get a good shot...:> You sure did though... Nice capture!

I live in northwestern Ontario and I am lucky to have a river in my back yard. I often see blue herons in the spring and summer. I have, however, never been fortunate enough to grab a good photo of one. I am always amazed at how these huge birds manage to get off the ground and fly at all. Your shot is absolutely stunning. Perhaps your heron is one of "mine" who is vacationing in Florida.

The reflection is perfect. You could flip it and probably no one will notice that the shot is upside down.

    Great shot Joe.

Hello Trina, thank you for viewing and commenting. Florida is wonderful for bird photography... it has lots of birds and places where they become accustomed to people.

Hello David, thank you for the comment. Early morning at a place called Parrish Park on the left side after crossing the bridge from Titusville to Merritt Island NWR. Sometimes there are wading birds in the water, the sun will be in a good position to capture what might be there.

Hello Susan, it could be one of yours but most likely a resident bird accustomed to people. Florida has many natural areas set aside for wildlife. The resident birds see many people and become used to the contact and being photographed.

Thanks Bobo, the light was fantastic and the water calm... both make for great reflections.
