    Jake and Lottie

A very rare moment capturing my 2 children together without Jake running a mile - one for my album

    Very nice Joanne,

My only queries are regarding the white bar across the bottom - intentional? purpose?

Yes, VERY nice. I wish my kids would pretend to like each other long enough for a photo

    Re: Jake and Lottie

This photo captures a very nice moment among siblings. At its worst, which is far worse than what you have presented to us, it would surely be a wonderful memory for decades to come.

The photo is so good that I have a suggestion to make, despite that I'm not a portrait specialist. When converting caucasian portraits to black-and-white, the conventional wisdom is to use the green filter because it tends to enhance the skin tones. Notice that the skin tones of the girl are both blotchy and darker compared to those of the the boy. The darker skin tones are not an issue, as her complexion may be darker. However, you never want skin tones to be blotchy. So, it might be necessary to attend to that aspect before converting to black-and-white, or it may be that for whatever reason you didn't use the ideal filter.

If you tone down the bright highlights in the background before converting to black-and-white, that detail will also result in a photo that is deserving of such a good-looking pair of children.

Jake is as handsome as Lottie is beautiful. Congratulations on those great genes!
