blue-orange coloured spider

came across this unique spider that was having a prey for it's lunch. Anyone know the ID of this spider?

1. The prey has a stomach full of eggs.



2. From the underside of it's web revealing the top side of the spider

I think that has to be the most unusually shaped spider I have ever seen. If you can find it or others, I'd love to see more photos!

Before I take a guess at the species, was this spider about the size if your hand? (leg span / diameter)

Bill, I had a number of shots of the same spider so will post them later. When I came across it, I couldn't make out where is the front and the back as the shape of it's body confused me.

Geoff, it reminded me of the helmet of the speed skaters 8)

John, the body is no more than 6 or 7mm

I identified the species. It's an Opadometa spider
