    Rough-legged hawk

    From early today Dec 8th. The R-L Hawk just sat on the post for several minutes. Did not fly until I drove by.

    It must have wanted it's picture taken, Dave. Looks like it just sat there and posed for you. Great shots, very clear, and I like the way the blue background acts as a contrast.

    The two others above were very nice. This is gorgeous. A wild bird in flight in its natural environment.

    The background (and the grass at the front) is just defined enough to give us a very clear sense of what that environment is, but just out of focus enough so that our attention is focused squarely on the bird.
