    Foggy Sunrise at Lake Erie

While visiting my parents, we went to Huntington Beach on a foggy morning and were surprised when the fog lifted so that we could see the sunrise. About 10 minutes later it was gone.

    Hi Don,

I like this, but I cannot decide whether to suggest cloning out the little bit of land on the left edge.

It might stand a very small boost of saturation/local contrast, but it is nicely processed.

    Cheers,

What a nice composition! The fog, the backlight trees, the beautiful colors, sky, reflections...

I'll go with the cloning out idea while perhaps cropping it a bit with some water from the bottom. There are also some dust particles on the sky. Saturation and local contrast also might help but in overall it's a very nice image.

Not sure I dust (bunnies), they could be birds though - I am talking about the small sharp, well defined black dots/dashes. Easiest to see if you click in the image, then hit F to 100% it, then grab and hold down mouse button and move it around - the dots that move are on the image, the ones that don't are dust on (my) screen

Don, very nice feel and colors here. I agree about the left side land. I would clone it out. Now you may think me crazy but I scrolled the image up and capped about half the sky, this makes a 2-1 quazi panno. Just an option, it is great as is.

Nicely done, Don. It is a very pleasing image.

You might try cropping off half of the foreground water at the bottom of the image and then a little off the left side to balance the composition. That would lower the horizon to about 1/3 the way up and you would lose very little information. Just one person's thoughts that are very subjective.

I agree with the cropping but a very nice shot!
