Kevin congratulations for your first post. A wonderful image indeed.

As I am using a tiny monitor at the moment at first I saw a nice summer photo but as I scrolled down the snow revealed. What a nice combination!

The footsteps work nicely too leading the eye to the kiosk.

Well, thank you... But that is not snow, it is actually sand!

Well that's a surpise!!! It sure looks like and feels like snow in my tiny monitor!!!

(obviously there could be no snow under the canopy... Now I am ashamed )

Good on you, Kelvin. The best way is to get right in and start posting images.

I like the low viewpoint you've taken on this shot and the fact you've put the shelter up to the top left corner. Clever. Gives a good sense of it (the shelter) being surrounded all around by sand. It would have been great if you could have got it without any footprints, but that might have been too much to ask for.

I note the image is posted at a size of 450 x 300 pixels. A lot of us on here post our images at 1000+ pixels on the longer edge. They do get re-sized down to 700 pixels when posted into a message, but of you then click on them you see them in a Lightbox at full size. It really can make a difference. So, you might want to check what size your shooting at and then how your sizing them for posting onto the web.

Edit - I see a re-sized image is now on display in the first post .......... and it's good!

I would be very happy with a shot like that. A bit of a refreshing change from the usual vast landscapes. Nicely done.

Thank you so much for all the kind comments. I will post the images larger, I wasn't sure what size was optimal.

You have a good eye, my friend. I knew right away I liked it, but I had to work out why. Donald sums it up for me.

Agreed with all of the above, Kelvin. You can edit your first post to replace the image with a larger version or you can simply post it as a reply to the thread. I'd really like to see the detail in that sand and the layers of pastel colors at the horizon that can't be seen in this small version.
