Bruce, very nice image. Perhaps it might benefit from a bit closer bottom crop to remove some of the lawn...

Richard, thank you for your comments. This church was the first "serious" pic I shot shortly after I acquired my first digital camera. Bruce

    Bruce,

I'm going to pass along a tip I learned from Colin here at CiC: Display your image on your monitor. Shut your eyes and think about anything that makes you temporarily forget about the photo. Open your eyes and make note of the very first thing that you see. For me, that's the clouds, not the church.

If you have the same response during that little exercise, tone down the clouds and brighten the church.

    Re: Church

    Hi Bruce,

My contribution would be to mention the sharpened noise blobs in the sky, (intentional) grain is one thing, this is something else that again distracts from the primary subject.

I think I might have panned left a bit before shooting; there's really nothing of interest in the right background, but what is on the left might have been interesting and the cut off ramp of pale grass makes me wonder. However, if it were a parking lot full of shiny, bright cars, you did the correct thing by excluding it.

    Hope that helps,
