    Milkweed

Went out to a wildlife refuge today to find birds, and I came back with this instead. C&C welcome, as always. This was shot with a 50D, EF-S 60mm macro. 10 images stacked with Zerene, DMap process.

Very nice Dan. Great texture - and even the colour is quite alive, for something that's dead. I'm amazed at the world this macro business opens up. You just have to keep your eyes open!

Was this produced with the same basic setup that you've already shown me?

    Andrew,

thanks. Yes, the same setup, except the lighting was all direct, no umbrella.

Not to sound morbid, but dead and dying plants in the fall are great for macro. All sorts of interesting textures are created or revealed. I have not done too much with this yet, but I have been experimenting off and on for a couple of years, and I have posted some of them here.
