This is a 14 image focus stacked photo of a Gazania, I used Helicon Focus to merge the various images then finished it in Nik Efx Pro.Nikon D3s tripod mounted with cable release and mirror up mode, Nikkor 105mm micro in manual focus position.ISO 400, F/18, 1/125. Neil

Nice shot Neil, the flower is great and nicely done, the background i find a little to busy for my taste.

Agreed. A significantly better image, I think. We can now concentrate our full attention on the flower because that's where our attention is directed. And now that we can see it properly, it's got an almost 3-D quality to it. Very well lit. How did you do that? Is it just natural light?

    Re: focus stacked Gazania

Thank you all for your kind replies, I recently discovered this flower here in South Africa and fell in love with photographing it.All my first focus stacked attempts were with the flower fully open but on this occassion the sun had not been on it long so it was still unfurling and I felt it would give a greater impression of depth.
