Hi guys !
Its been a long time I came here, but I remember this site very well, cos I learnt a lot about photography coming here...
At that time, I didn't have my own cam...
And, at last, got my new Nikon D3000, along with the kit lens...
Here goes my 1st post of my 1st pics using my 1st ever DSLR !!!
These are pics from my trip to the near by lake, in the evening ...
Tree reflections in the placid lake
I was late and it was getting dark pretty quickly !!
After I took this snap, my battery ran out
Regarding post processing, i'm a total newbie, so didn't really do much other than cropping and playing a little bit using Lightroom !
My 1st lesson was to keep an eye on ISO.I didn't notice it , & was at 800, so it means the images are not as detailed...
Few more pics, for you all,
A millipede that made the mistake of coming into my home , I liked the patterns its rings create when it curls up into a ball...
Very friendly though, doesn't bite or do any harm ..
So picked it up, was very odd to press the shutter with my left index finger, as the insect was in my right hand !!!
Another shot , of the curled beauty ... !
Pink beauty !
Just walked out of my home , to see this rose, just enjoying the rain.. it was dark , so used the flash !
Top view of the pinky !
Fruit bowl !
Feel very nice to be posting here ..
Looking forward to see the reaction for my first ever post !
Thanks in advance, for your patience !!!

showing my age now too).
I may just have done it again, no seriously, I had to look that one up to spell it

. Anyway to business. I really like number 3 but when you get used to the PP i think the overall composition will benefit from cropping/cloning out the foliage in the right of the frame. No 8 is clean and sharp but for me it is a specimen record. A really tight crop to irradicate the white background would make an intriguing image. Apart from maybe the millepede all need a touch more sharpening to my eye and I think you need to dive into the PP and experiment with levels and curves. Good luck with the new camera you are making a promising start.
