As you can see I am very new here. I left a couple of photos I like on an album I have started.
I invite any comments from CIC readers and contributors.
thank you

The convention here is to post photos directly into threads if you want comments, so it might be worth reposting them here, typically fewer photos are better as people like to consider a photo at a time and always best to include any information about the shot, including settings and equipment used as well as time of day, weather etc.
I like the composition of the Monterosso photo, although to me the colours seem a bit muted and I'd be tempted to add a little saturation. The sky is blown out which might be recoverable and you can see a bit of the guard fence from the view point you were standing on which is something to look out for and avoid in future I'd suggest.
The dam photograph doesn't appeal to me as much as a composition but that's probably just me. I think being landscape it doesn't emphasize the drop that much, there's also a very slight sliver of sky in the photo which I think would be better removed. I wonder what it would look like with a bit more sky and and the top of the dam running along the top horizontal thirds line. I think you've captured the water movement very well.
I hope that's the kind of thing you were looking for.
If you are unsure of any points about uploading photos, Robin, have a read of this HELP THREAD: How can I post images here?
Thank you Geoff, i will go and read up.
Thank you RichB, Yes, that is what I am looking for.
The Monterosso photo was a point and shoot with a Richo Caplio R5 while on holiday. And I never noticed the hand rail, and hand! when I was taking the photo! Too busy enjoying the scene.
On the Dam, (D70s, Sigma 28-200) I was trying to get the water over the dam to look good.
I did take some others with more sky which I think are better photos, but with less fall.
The day was overcast to becoming bright, around midday.
I uploaded and posted the way I did so as not to fill the forum with "my junk", a wrong move. I will try again.
Thank for your time in looking and comments

Photobucket works fine. Just copy the IMG code and paste it in the thread you want.
Many thanks.
Here is hoping, this is my first try!

Actually this is my 2nd effort, lets see.
It seems to have worked!
Now to me, this photo seems confused, the eye is being directed in different ways and does not know where to go.
As well as that, the foreground is out of focus.
I was trying to get the path around the side into the picture to create a 'frame/lead' of some kind.
but it does not seem to work.
I like the sky and the water, but that is about all.
I am sure I have better photos in my album.

Thank you again.
I love the cover photo on your Birds album.
Ah, the Osprey and full wing spread. Looks like you got it this time.
On your first image....I think a crop removing some of the left and some off the bottom will take care of the leading line issue and OOF foreground.
Maybe crop so that the trail starts just obve the bottom edge coming in from the left. Just an idea I am sure there will be others.
Unfortunately the second is more difficult as the leading line leads you straight out of the image.

Thank you. I am not sure. I wonder if your treatment has made it too "yellow".
However, the clouds certainly stand out better in your version.
