The last one is really magical, Dave. Great light. The long shadow connecting the two foreground trees. Ideal exposure of the entire image and super texture of the foreground tree on the left. Superior composition.
Consider cropping the second one to eliminate most of the sky.
A really nice series.
Beautiful series. I like them all but #3 just a bit more. Nicely done.
I too like #3 best but all are quite nice. What a great color of bloom to be perfectly set off by morning light.
Beautiful Dave. All good but #3 by a whisker for me.Down south out Jacarandas are not out yet. We have huge one which blooms in the yard of a local pub. It is a town icon. It was planted from seeds bought back from Palestine by soldiers returning from WW1.

Must be exam time![]()
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed the memories that seeing the Jacarandas evokes for me.
Have to admit I miss them... few and far between up here.
all good but no 3 is outstanding, appears a little sharp but still great shot.
Thanks Mike, Bobo, Paul, Ken, Trace and Mark for your comments. It makes me feel the 5AM start was worthwhile !
Mike I'll have a look at that alternate crop for #2.
Ken sounds like you've got a good excuse to go to the pub !
Trace indeed it is exam time - poor devils !
Mark funny you should mention the sharpness - I noticed that on the smalller size image embedded in the thread. I don't think it's so apparent when viewed full size.
Dave
Nice shots, Dave. Here in South Africa, it is also Jacaranda blooming time! Although Jacarandas are not indigenous (obviously) to SA, it is a very populous and popular tree, especially in Pretoria, one of our capitals! From October each year the whole city is painted purple - to the extent that a song has even been written about these trees in which Pretoria is nicknamed "The Jacaranda City", and, one of the commercial radio stations is also called "Jacaranda FM".
Great photos! As Thinus said, they are blooming here as well and this almost looks like home![]()
Thanks Thinus and Tobias. Good to see we have something in common ! Of course we also have cricket as a common national interest and in a couple of weeks it will be on for young and old between our two countries at the Gabba. Can't wait.
Dave
Well done Dave, very nice with that light. The Jacarandas in Florida will not blossom until our spring/early summer which must be your season in Australia now.
Beautiful shots all, Dave. Great dof.
I agree with Mike, there is something magical or fantasy world about the third one.
Serge
All are lovely but, I'll cast my vote for #3 also!
Thanks Joe, Serge, Richard and Donald. Much appreciated.
