    Rainbow Lorikeet

    I took this in my front yard yesterday. I am still learning to use my new Canon 1000D and would appreciate your C+C on this shot. PP includes sharpening and cropping. Lens 75-300mm f8

    nice..very colorful...did you use a flash? or photoshop it at all...it looks manipulated but that might just be the lighting...either way very cool

    these are wild in your area or a pet?

    Thanks for you comment. These are wild birds. I think that the bird was a bit under the weather that's why I could get as close as I did. They sometime feed on a particulal fruit that make them intoxicated, hence he was having a rest in my tree in the front yard. Because I was shooting with backlight I used a fill flash. Apart from that it is pretty well natural colouring.

    Walshy - lovely capture! love the catch light in the little fella's eye, the detail in the feathers, the clarity, the color, the background bokeh!
