    Rain

There's some awful weather over the UK at present, but we have been relatively lucky here in the south-east. However, while I was at Dunstable Downs today (Tuesday), this heavy rain cloud rolled by, a couple of miles away, dumping its load over Bedfordshire. It seemed to me to suit B & W, so I converted the original in PaintShop Pro X4, using a magenta filter.

That is an angry looking storm! I think B & W suits it very well.

Carl and Mike - Thank you for viewing and commenting. Although there was no lightning, it certainly looked to be an unpleasant rainstorm - it was a relief when it didn't come our way!

I wondered how you photographed rain actually.

I tried but it just looks misty.

I think the virga is much more obvious in your original colour image.

Interesting, Frank - virga is a word I've never seen before, so had to look up.

If you do that then I'll have to admit that not all we see there is virga as some of it is hitting the ground! LOL! Oh well. A very nice image regardless!

Thank you Mark and Frank. I think the B&W with the crop suits the mood of the dark and menacing storm, but I do like the colour image also, with or without the crop.
