I'm not a flower guy, but I love this shot. I generally think of a flower image as a portrait, giving me license to place it smack in the middle of the bull's-eye (because I never know what to do with the background), but I really like this placement, and the background truly complements the shot. Well done.

    Re: When the sun shone

    Hi Franky,

This is a pleasing enough composition, but it has lost detail because the red and green channels 'blew' (were over exposed).

Close ups of flowers, especially if* sunlit, are very challenging to avoid blowing individual channels (and losing detail). Reference to an RGB histogram when shooting is essential (unless you just apparently 'under expose' by a couple of stops to be sure).

    * not sure if this is sunlit though

The background on this is pretty good; nicley blurred and complementary.

    Cheers,

Good shot. It really has GREAT composition. But the color of the flower, for me it looks like it was photoshopped

I donīt know manage photoshop, so sorry, I only used it in order to put my sign and rescale.

Close only RAW (NEF) and converted to jpg with NX2.

    Thanks everybody for comments.

    Regards.
