Thats a BIG lens. I dont know if someone would buy a lens that big, but im sure thats mostly used in sports or wildlife. I dont even wanna know how much that thing is. That thing WILL cost a fortune. So no wonder its hard to find reviews.

You could buy this one and say mine is bigger than yours

    http://www.takahashi-europe.com/en/FET-300.php

Probably cheaper. It's also likely to be diffraction limited. F8 should just about be on with a 5um pixel size or you could put a medium format digital camera on it instead and maybe get a bigger field than he does as well. It wouldn't add much to the cost.

There are some more modest intruments on their web sites. Some where on the web there is also a 150mm 1200mm F8 super apo. Fully corrected in 3 colours and mostly in one other. A bit down market though so people might be ashamed to use it.

Nah, this one is also an option

Disadvantage is that an adapter is needed to get it attached to the Leica. Also a tripod mount is not included!

I went with using a Porshe for a tripod, as I needed a faster lens.

Zeiss Takahashi - no contest. Pity they don't make camera lenses. :-) The supply rates would be a bit slow and rather expensive though.

As with most things Leica, 70% of the cost is due to the red dot.
If you stare at the dot long enough, you will come to believe every photo you take is a work of art.
Even the out of focus ones (the camera clearly knew better than you what needed to be in focus).

    ;P
