A few from North Vietnam

Here are a few shots from Hanoi and Ha Long in Vietnam.

1. Officially, my first attempt at a 'street' shot. Unofficially, hanging out of the window of a minivan at 60kph and a lucky grab




2. "Me and My Water Buffalo" - another grab from a speeding minivan. I was determined to get a shot of a buffalo on the way back to Hanoi from Ha Long. Got the ar$e end of one, but still like the cropped finished shot




3. Ha Long Bay. Nothing prepares you for the scale and beauty of this World Heritage Site. The weather wasn't great but we were relatively lucky, and very little tourist traffic as well

Exceptional compositions. Another very nice series. #2 and #3 would be my favorites if it weren't for the dark portion of the sky at the top.

Excellent collection of images. I spent a few years in the South of Vietnam and this set really gives me the feeling of that country.

Thanks Mike - the burnt top edges and vignette doesn't look so severe when printed. It was very hazy so I wanted to avoid a very light bland sky in both.

Thanks Richard. It's a very interesting country - I'd love to revisit just for photography now I've got a few more clicks under my belt and get some proper street photography in the bag. It's a photography goldmine, very friendly people and great landscapes.
