    Hands off...

    Hands off...

    Hi Folks

Make of this what you will!

It's meant to be highly stylised and yes, the green leaves are deliberate and won't be getting cloned out.

Interesting and I mean that in a very, very good way. I am not even going to think how you did it for my brain would hurt too much.

    Cheers:

    Re: Hands off...

I see this wonderful image as a hand that has plucked the flower from the plant. The flower is longingly looking toward the plant from which it was removed, wishing that it could be returned to it. It's not important in my mind whether this is what you are attempting to convey but I would be interested in knowing if you and I see essentially the same thing in the image, not that you should feel compelled to divulge what you see.

    Good evening Mike

Am only too happy to share the crazed wanderings of my mind with you.

Yes..essentially that but also the hand being energised by the plucking of bloom and the plant robbed of that same energy.

    An electrical exchange...hence the neon.

God, I need to get out more.

Now that you explain the electrical energy, that makes sense to me. I forgot to explain that I saw the neon as a highly stylistic method of conveying motion. Either one or a combination of the two works for me.

You apparently get out a lot. Otherwise, you would not have found that hand.

By the way, I forgot to mention how much I like the desaturated flower that has lost its luster now that it has been removed from its plant. That works really well on several levels.

Thank you Mike. ( It is a fabulous hand is it not? )

I was expecting that someone would suggest the flower needed contrast work and thereby miss the point.

You understood it all in one.

Sorry for the confusion. Let me explain.

An image like this is not the result of coming across a scene, pointing the camera at it and clicking (the sort of thing I do). The creator of the work has to craft and construct the scene. Whereas I rely on nature to have constructed the scene for me, usually a few hundred or thousand years beforehand and I merely record it, the scene in this picture was the result of imagination and vision that then had to be turned into reality in order to capture the photograph ....... and then the the photograph had to be taken and the image made that would capture and convey the resulting creation in the way envisioned.

And what I was trying to say was that I thought that was done wonderfully well.
