    Flower

In between gusts of wind I was able to take this yesterday.

I particularly wanted to isolate the flower, and concentrate on just the head.

Hope you like it. C & C welcome, especially advice on photo processing. Thanks

Great job of preserving detail on the flower and isolating it from the background. My only suggestion is to try some crops. it seems like too much space devoted to relatively empty background. I think you could probably get away with centering this, with much less background, but you could also move the flower a bit toward one side or a corner and see how that works.

    Re: Flower

It is difficult to determine how much post processing was needed but the final result is detailed and the subject has been isolated from the background.

As Dan points out, owing to the lack of Direction Elements in the background (physical lines, spatial lines created by Positive and Negative “rivers” of space, highlights and shadows, spatial futures created by directional gaze and intended movements) that lead our eyes around the image, the subject could benefit from a tighter crop. Because of the symmetry of the flower, a centering of the subject could work, particularly with a square 1:1 ratio frame but other crops should be explored as well.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the critique. I opted for a tight, centred, crop in the end. I think it works much better - thanks
