    Can this be edited?

    Hello all,

I've taken this pic in my garden this PM but something must have flew in front of the lens JUST as I was pressing the shutter release because I can see a big brownish, out-of-focus thingy in the middle. I was wondering if you believe this can be edited out? I doubt it a little since it's overlapping the stem quite a bit.

    What do you think?

    (Also wouldn't mind some C&C)

    Thanks!

While Ken's edit is pretty good, I can still see remnants of the editing and find it distracting.

However, my real question is why not just go reshoot it? If it is in your garden, I would have just gone back out the next day and reshot the same setup. I know it wouldn't be 100% identical, but you could get close.

You're right of course. But there was a slight lawnmower incident involving said flowers. I'll leave it at that.

Hi Luc, photographers have to be patient sometimes, what about a reshoot, next summer?

    Hi Luc,

The red, and to a lesser extent, blue, channels were probably clipping on this capture, so if re-shooting (next year), I'd suggest checking the RGB histogram and reducing exposure as necessary - before touching the lawn mower

    Cheers,

    Oh boy.

I'm just starting to understand the exposure histogram. I've got a ways to go before I can master the RGB histos and figure out what I must do when interpreting them.

    But hey thanks!
