Male Northern Flicker landing on habitat tree

When we have to remove hazard trees from our campground we try to make habitat snags whenever possible. We cut this tree several years ago leaving about an 8 foot tall snag, rough cut the top and let nature take it's course. When the campground opened this year we found an active flicker nest in the snag. Success.
I took these pictures on a cold wet morning so my ISO was very high. But the colors on the male Flicker were stunning. Taken from a picnic table across the roadway from the nest. Canon 7D, 400 MM 5.6 L, 1/1000s at f 5.6.

Thanks for the comments. Birds under even the best conditions are tough to shoo. But high speed continuous at least gives you a chance to get a few good frames.
