    artist performance - living statues

    Last weekend, in Bucharest, was a wonderful performance of "Living Statues", of Masca Theatre and their guests.
    As an open event, in a biggest park in Bucharest, Herastrau, I was able to made some pictures, but this one I like from all. Even so, I feel that I need to do something more, but I really don't know what.

    I think this is very good capture. A super composition that captures the character very well.

    May I suggest two possible actions that you may feel contribute to improving it further:
    1. Use levels or a curve to pull done the mid-tones very slightly. This also takes the highlights down a very small way and, I feel, maybe gives more 'depth' to the image.
    2. Add Local Contrast Enhancement to make it 'pop' a bit more.

    With your permission (I will remove it if you wish), this is the effect of those actions:

    If you click on one of them and open in the lightbox, you can then use the forward and back arrows to compare the two.

    And I wonder about trying a slight crop of the top. It will probably mean 'going square' but some people like that format for portraits.

    Hi Leo,

    Good capture

    Donald has covered most things, given it is a good capture there isn't much else to say, but I will add one more if I may;
    I would give a quick wipe with a blur brush down that sharp/bright vertical edges and angled bar behind the subject.

    Thanks Donald,

    Yes, you are right in both points. Your edit is 95% from what I have in mind.

    Thanks Geoff, I did a square crop, but, the pattern from behind looks a bit odd, and I discard it.
    Thanks Dave, I will give a try when I'm back to my computer

    Thanks for your comments,

    Leo
