Revisiting this post, I was fairly happy with these two shots. #1 is a tight crop of a larger capture and, to my taste, is too noisy. What can I do, at this stage, to improve it?
Exif is: Nikon D90, 90mm macro, iso 200, f/16, 0.25 sec
#2 is pretty much ASOOC, with my standard workflow of increasing clarity, and sharpening in LR3. I think the DoF is a little shallow and that I should have tried f/22. Still working at that one
