I have captured a larger version than originally posted, from your Flickr page, so that people can view it in the lightbox and see as, in my view, it needs to be seen - larger, with more impact.
Thank you Donald. My husband dislikes this pic intensely which usually means am on the right lines .
All feedback welcome as I say, just playing with new ideas and am a bit bored with flowers.( shock, horror!)![]()
Hey Sharon, I like the idea, and love strong, powerful B+W images with fantastic lines, it really caught my eye. There's one big problem I see though, if you don't mind my saying so? I can't tell what it is. And so although it caught my eye, it lost my attention equally as quick.
As an abstract though, I think it's fantastic!
Sharon,
I am not sure what to say. I keep going away and then coming back to this image, which must mean something.
I certainly find it captivating, so that must be good. I keep trying to explain what I see/feel, " Isolation; Coldness; Confusion"
I'll come back again tomorrow and see how I feel then.
On reading back what I've just written, I think I do like it; otherwise I wouldn't be spending so much time evaluating it.
I'll be back.
Thanks for making a lazy reviewer (me) use his brain for once.
John
Pretty cool... I like how it reminds me of the wing of a bird in flight. Complete with individual feathers and all.
Hi, Sharon
Very intriguing, and hard to quit looking at it. I initially thought it was an abstract tiger with motion artifact along the body, and a long white stripe along the bridge of the nose. And that was stone cold sober. May have another look later under "different circumstances" and see what's there. I enjoyed this.
Kevin
I do like this in an abstrct sense, although I agree with Andrew and wish for just a slight bit of a stronger hint as to its identity. Good on you for think out of the box and trying new things.![]()
Haaaaaaaaaaaaa 'thanks guys...it is actually the ochil hills with snow on last week.
Andrew..'one big problem but you forgot what it was?????' You trying to drive me crazy??
Appreciate you all looking and commenting....and taking time to think and look again. You guys are great. xxx
Hahaha, I do have a tendency to drive people crazy, or that's what my wife says anyway. No, I didn't forget - my problem was that I can't tell what it is!! Thanks for sharing though - if you didn't tell us, it would have drove me crazy!!
I like it.
Actually did something quite similar a while back. Did not dare post it as I thought it was too extreme and just a learning exercise.
Wont post it in your thread but will leave a link. Take a look here if you wish and let me know what you think. Thanks.

As John says, you keep coming back to it. It's got a haunting, ethereal quality to it that engages the viewer (well, this one).
It's a land that is out there, but which we never can reach. Where there lots and lots of tormented souls wandering in those hills, never finding rest. Well, that's the emotion it stirs in me!
And as for ........
I thought all the strange folk just lived in Fife in Scotland!!
ps - Yours is a good one as well, Bobo.
However you did that, you did that very, very, very well. I am having a hard time getting that image out of my mind, that is a good thing.
Cheers:
Allan
Thank you Donald, you have a poetic soul indeed!
Now Mr Bobobird sir, a word if I may. Your picture is fantastic. I love that sort of late night urban shot where you can almost hear a single footstep. I just adore the waythe foreground is lit and the lone figure in the shelter.
Were it mine I may clone out the smaller lights to give more impact to that patch in the middle but that's all AND I would certainly be posting it and proud of it.
As us Scot's would say...'that's you telt!'![]()
I was probably just thinking about attendees at the Glenfarg Folk Feast (yep, Glenfarg is in the aforementioned Ochil Hills that are featured in this image) that takes place this weekend. We are transformed, for a weekend, into the centre of the folk music world.
And me? I'm off to Belfast very early tomorrow (Saturday) morning to go and talk about child abuse and neglect for 5 days at an international congress. So, I'm going to be out of touch with the world of CiC until Thursday morning.
Don't do anything naughty whilst I'm away.
Sharon,
I like the image a lot. That you can't recognise what it is at first glance is partly what creates the interest. I think that you could experiment with trying to get a little detail in the black behind the peak. I think the black is a little too blank in that area and it makes the image a little disjointed. That is for you to decide, if it works for you.
Graham
Thanks Graham...I will have a wee potter in that area and see what happens, appreciate your thoughts.
Donald it is grand work ye do...hope you get some time to enjoy a little Irish hospitality while you are there.
....and of course we will behave while you are gone!![]()
Donald doing street photos will be a sight to see...
Thanks Sharon, will revisit the pic in a bit and try what you have suggested.
