    Wallaman Falls, North Queensland

So finally it is Easter and I made time to pick up my camera and go to a new location. I headed up to Wallaman Falls which is the highest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia. It is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. I had hoped to take the trail to the base of the falls, but it has not yet reopened after Cyclone Yasi caused major damage to the area over 12 months ago. Indeed the damage from the cyclone is still apparent in the vegetation all through this area. I arrived on dark so took a few night shots of the falls and surrounds, though being close to full moon the stars were somewhat washed out. Camped overnight and took some more images at sunrise. Hope you don't mind me sharing the "collection". Though the falls shots are somewhat repetitive... I felt frustrated in trying to get a different take on them from the cliff top, so I've interspersed some other sights

    The falls by moonlight...

Very nice set Trace. I wouldn't have even dreamed of taking a shot like the first one at night ! The second has an almost mystical feel about it and I like the mist in the third.

A beautiful set of images really showing off your talent and Australia. I would never had guessed these images were made in Australia.
