If it's got more than 4 legs, it's creepy......

but my husband keeps finding these critters in the woods, and yells for me to come with my camera.....
Here are a couple of these creepy-crawlies - against my better judgement!
And I have absolutely no idea what they are.

PS - I absolutely draw the line at Spiders!!

Great shots. Maybe a slight touch of selective lightening of head region in #1? And perhaps a bit more DOF to cover whole body in #2 with a whisker more DOF? But only my opinion. I am sure there are those out there who really understand these things and who will be able to make a more informed comment.

I think that the first is the larvae of the wierworm or click beetle
    Conoderus exsul (Sharp)
    Order :Coleoptera
    Family: Elateridae

Not a clue about the others

    Thanks Ken!
    They ARE creepy!
As long as they stay outside, it's OK. It's their territory, but they manage to get inside sometimes!

I agree with Ken that the first looks like a beetle larva. The second one is a millipede.
And hey, creepy crawlies are animals too. Just a shade less cute than say a kitten or a puppy.

I can handle the little North American Millipedes...don't think I want to run across the African version at over 1' long.

    More than a shade !!!!
But since we are the invaders, I try not to harm them.

We also have our share of lizards, and they do come in the house.
But since they only have 4 legs, there's nothing creepy about them.
I posted a set HERE a while back.
