    In need of some repair

Have not been able to get out with the camera for a while now; due to illness. I only just remembered how to turn it on (only joking). Managed to find this tractor sitting in a field not to far from my house, so gave me the opportunity to brush off the cobwebs and get my 'snapping' finger back in action.
    As always C&C most welcome.

Sorry to hear you haven't been firing on all cylinders (pun intended) - a bit like that tractor by the look of things. Hopefully you're not rusting up however.

I think that image a super candidate for the B & W treatment. What do you think?

    Hi Donald,
you do make me smile (which is good). As I get older I think a few drops of oil would certainly help my rusty joints, but I'll settle for a glass of Glenmorangie; seems to work better.

I was also wondering about a B&W conversion, but for some reason never tried it before posting, anyhow I have now and do like it better myself. I will be interested to see what everyone else thinks.

    Cheers

    Hi John,

    Glad you're on the mend.

For a colour shot, you need to return on a 'clear blue sky' morning or evening, to get a better (less bright) background sky, plus some complementary low angle lighting on it. If you're unlucky, I guess engine orientation and sun angles may thwart my suggestion though.

I'd clone out the tree branches above.

    Cheers,

Just playing around with different software too see in what different directions I could take this picture. Not so sure myself but thought I would share to see what others think.

That isn't just some ordinary old tractor, John, that is a Traction Engine.

I'm surprised some steam enthusiasts haven't restored it; or is it awaiting restoration.

Anyway, I like the first one best as it nicely shows the rust colour.

    Hi Geoff,
I don't think it's going to be restored. It is actually situated in a field near to the entrance to a Antique market. The metalwork on the body is extremely thin and would need complete replacement. Being kept outside in all weathers is just making matters worse. I am going back to try and capture some more pictures, using some of the suggestions above. I think that eventually it will end up at the 'Great scrap yard in the sky', so if I can try and get some half decent pictures; as some sort of historical record of it's existence that would be great.
If anyone has any suggestion on how to achieve this please let me know.
